A note to ... Friends of Dressage:

We are asking for assistance for the Rancho Murieta CDI 3*-Y/J that will be held at the
Murieta Equestrian Center, April 8-11, 2010, for the thirteenth year. This show survived in 2009 and is scheduled to continue despite concerns about the state
of the overall economy and fundraising in particular. When a show of this type has been on the calendar for many years, it would appear that there is a responsibility to continue to provide the service.
While we had hoped that the economic turndown might have diminished some of the
expenses, that has not proven to be the case. It is especially true that CDI 3* expenses
exceed the income from those classes by as much as 70%. The show is providing the
expected quality, with four of the five FEI judges having the FEI “O” rating.
Some competitors rely on the show for High Performance, NAJYRC and National Championship
qualifying while others look forward to the “big show” atmosphere, where they
can learn from watching many other horses and riders when they are not competing themselves. In addition to the direct awards of the classes, CDI competitions provide
education, challenge and inspiration. The overall benefit of this show is incalculable.
Please take a few minutes to look over the sponsorship and advertising opportunities that
are available.
If you have sponsored or advertised in the past, we thank you again. We can assure you
that the competitors are grateful that your generosity has helped make this competition possible.
